Would love to see some hard figures that give us an indication of how much more de-leveraging is required.

And then we have the leverage that exists from short-selling. I just can't believe that, with the markets as depressed as they are, that short interest should still be at these levels, especially if everyone is supposedly "de-leveraging" which means they aren't relying upon margin. If you have lower margin exposure, short interest should automatically dry up as less stock becomes available for shorting:
