Nope -- disagree. As a life-long Conservative I think Simpson nailed it. It is a shame to see Harper squander his political capital like this. He poked the opposition parties in the eye and they drew a line in the sand.

As Simpson writes: "The miscalculations have been stunning. Mr. Harper's strategy has accomplished already the near impossible: to bring the Liberals and NDP together." Nice work.
