WE had a lovely Thanksgiving too.

I love it when I see something I am interested in on the Day in History.

In this case it was the piece on the Whitman Massacre, which happened in my state:
• 1847 - Whitman Massacre: Missionaries Dr. Marcus Whitman, his wife Narcissa, and 15 others are killed by Cayuse and Umatilla Indians, causing the Cayuse War.

Missionaries were some of the most determined explorers in 19th century America. IN some cases they came at the invitation of the indigenous peoples. In others, they came wanting to convert them.
