Suffice it to say, he isn't a huge fan of the Iraq war, and more on the side of "get out while the getting is good".

He was hired with the precondition that he would support the surge and with a full understanding of, and commitment to, a long-term presence in Iraq if necessary.

Now I certainly have some qualms about his competence. Despite his promises, he never did solve the parking problem at A&M. But, Iraq very well may be a simpler problem...

The natives have fewer guns, for one.
