I think it is a very realistic possibility. There is a good chance that the "three-waver" since Oct 2007 was in fact wave "A" of what is destined to be a larger formation. My favorite would be a big Ending Diagonal which would last a few years.

I think it all rests upon whether or not the authorities are able to "beat" deflation with inflationary efforts. So far, everything is consistent with the deflationary wipeout hypothesis. I don't think they've done anything except attempt to limit the damage to impaired bank balance sheets.

I'm watching commodities like a hawk for any early warning that some of the reflationary efforts might actually be working. I appreciate having other eyes on the lookout as well. The downtrend in oil would have to be broken, and gold would likely scream at the top of its lungs if the efforts looked at all promising. So far, nothing to worry about...
