The issue is insane expenditures like the job bank

3000 people use the job bank, not exactly an enormous issue.

total cradle-to-grave health coverage

Lot's of companies offer that.

forcing plants to employ more people in lieu of replacing them with robots

Link?

requiring hour rate hikes for having to reach more than 18" (this is dumbest requirement I've ever heard of

So what, goes back to average hourly wages.

and hundreds of other ridiculous provisions the UAW has shoved down management's throat under threat of walkout.

Sorry according to Ten you are not allowed to be vague. I want links with names, amounts, and every other detail of all 100's or you are a liar.

When you add it all up, the Big 3 is paying about double for its labor.

Well they have legacy costs; Toyota and Honda don't. And T and H have a young workforce. It is what it is, unless you want to cut off all big three retirees. You want to cut off the execs as well? How about anyone else with a retirement health care plan or pension in other industries?

You don't think it's a marketing problem? Listen to the people on this thread bash US cars as trash. Fact is they may not be on top, but they are scattered throughout the list of the most dependable cars. And they are cheaper than equivalent Japanese cars. So why do so many people think they are trash? That's not a marketing problem?
