Inode, > The writer of the article is a total dildo, as is anyone who is sucked in by it.

Now now, that's not a nice since to say about those working for MediaMatters.org ... ;-)

I don't know of ANY PERSON idiot enough to take the $70/hour figure as the gross hourly rate.

Then talk apples to apples. The major difference is legacy cost. The big 3 are in the unenviable position of having manufactured cars, and stimulated the US economy, for many generations. Millions and millions of middle class jobs for families and educations for kids, and a decent retirement for the employees.

I know you think that's a waste of money and they should all make minimum wage. I wonder why Toyota and Honda pay so much?

This is typical GM gibberish that means little.....stuff you ideologues choose to ignore as you rake the unions over the coals. Every auto expert has said that GM has too many makes and too many models. Every auto expert says they must cut out several of them. So how many is GM really cutting under their plan......maybe Hummer. The assholes still don't get it. And idiots like you make it easier for them to sell this sh*t.

Wagoner's $1 salary

General Motors said it expects to draw $4 billion from the $12 billion this month. The company is also requesting a $6 billion line of credit "should a severe market downturn persist." GM said it plans to begin to repay the loans in 2011.

GM said it will invest about $2.9 billion in alternative fuels and advanced propulsion technologies during 2009-2012.
The company said it will review its Saab brand and "explore alternatives" for Saturn as it focuses on its four core brands: Cadillac, Chevy, Buick and GMC. Hummer is already on the block and GM said Pontiac will now be considered a niche brand.

GM's chief executive Rick Wagoner will also take a salary of $1 a year as part of the plan. Wagoner made $21.67 million in 2007.
