Recharging would be a problem for me. I don't have a garage or even a driveway. I supposed I could stretch an extension cord across a parking lot, but some people might not like that.

A lot of people simply don't have an easy way to recharge their cars overnight. People who live in apartments, people who live in condos or townhouses, and don't have a parking spot right in front of their door. etc.

As for the EV1, the charge acceptance rate was a problem. But also the reliability (which is better with today's technology), and the cost (which is also better, but is still high)
