if you are going "low starch, no sweets," as we are.

As you've been posting your meal choices over the course of the thread, I've been jealous noticing how much of your diet is starch. Beans, oatmeal, barley, and peas are starches. Not in a class with "the three destroyers of the body," but still starches. So, do you have a sense of what defines "low starch"? I would have thought it no more than a serving a day, if that.

I'm doing a lot of cottage cheese with either tomatoes or some home canned pears I did this Summer (I used a bit of Splenda to sweeten them), celery with peanut butter and a few ants (raisins) on top, as well as apples and dried plums (Rather than let them all fall and rot, I dried the thousands I had growing on my trees this yr), and raw veggies with home made blue cheese dip for snacks.

I basically eat the meat I cook........have a freezer full of Elk right now......along with lots of veggies.

Totally avoiding white foods...............potatoes, bread, and rice.

If I do have rice, I cook Lundberg Wild Blend

using beef broth for the liquid and add sauted onions, mushrooms, celery and garlic.

Also found a wheat free pancake recipe I might try on the back of Bob's Red Mill Oat Flour.
