Obama is too smart of a man to make the same mistakes as Bush did, which is just rely on his base and be the President for his base. He is not a left liberal as he has been made out to be by the right wing. His actions thus far has not given me any reason to believe that he is a bleeding liberal.

Lizzy, Obama will just be smart. There is good liberal and bad liberal. He will pick the good liberal I think.

But he will also want a more egelatarian society and I am in agreement with that. Large healthy middle class. Best for the kids and best for society.

And pre school funding. Any money the govenrment spends for that, it will get back 10 fold down the road. Society has to educate the kids.

He seems to know that.

I agree with you on not wanting to see a boom in liberal thinking. I'd prefer we stay centrist. However, I've done a lot of reading on the Great Depression recently. My conclusion is that Keynsian economic solutions are needed to get us out of this recession and that means massive government deficits in the next two years.

However, we have to also create plans to bring those deficits back under control. I believe that around 2012, we need to increase the top tax rates back to the levels they were in the 1990s.
