I tried to craft a response to that post and couldn't come up with anything simple. There used to be a thriving steel industry on the south side of Chicago (Southworks). Same scenario. Both labor and management killed that golden goose, then sucked the bones clean. It was finally abandoned and recently (10 yrs?) demolished and sold for scrap.

In fact, that's the area Obama was 'community organizing', all the people who used to work at the steel mills. Small world.

Gotta disagree. The problem goes back 50 years with management buckling to UAW demands.
