Agreed. But it's the best process we have...one that goes through the scientific review process. As far as saying that the folks who believe in global warming are trying to criminalize dissent, I don't agree with that at all. The only one who seems to be stifling open debate has been the Bush administration, Cheney especially, who redacted large portions of EPA reports from scientists who posited that warming was linked to pollution. So we have seen massive evidence of this gov't stifling scientific thought. However, I haven't seen the global warming crowd stifle the other side. I have seen them, myself included, write derisive posts and articles on those who disbelieve, but that is a far cry from censorship. The Bush administration has actively censored free thought in this area.
