It used twenty five gallons of water as I recall to produce one gallon of drinking water. You might want to check these facts out.

So what? The average daily household water use is estimated at 350 gallons. Most goes down the drain with your toilet. Which uses 3 1/2 gallons a flush. If you buy an expensive water saver one that uses 1/2 as much you flush it twice because the flow is too low. Your sewer system, that people bad mouth, saves millions of lives every year over the old days.

We live on a water planet. We ourselves are "bags of water." There is no shortage of water, only a shortage of brains in how to get and use it. All of this "conserve" jargon is an attempt to make you "act small, be small, think small." Don't fall for it.
