“The KGB, I think, was an honorable place to work” with “worthwhile” achievements, CNN founder Ted Turner contended in an interview aired on Sunday's Meet the Press in which he blamed the U.S. for starting the battles with Vladimir Putin “by putting the Star Wars system in Czechoslovakia and Poland” and, when host Tom Brokaw recalled that Leonid Brezhnev reacted to Jimmy Carter's outreach by invading Afghanistan, Turner retorted with moral equivalence: “Well, we invaded Afghanistan, too, and it's a lot further -- at least it's on the border of the Soviet Union.” Brokaw called it “naked aggression on the part of the Russians at the time,” prompting Turner to charge: “Well, going into Iraq was naked aggression on the part of the United States.”

Lindy, it's much more fun for free watchers who look on it as a hobby, like playing golf, than for people are obliged to do it whether they want to or not or they don't get paid, so they sleep on the job and punch the time clock.

<people around the world are checking them and calling in if they see people crossing. The Police get the monitoring for free. And done better than they would have done it themselves. Very innovative. >

Playing golf would be hard work if I had to do it every day at 8am whether I felt like it or not or no pay that day. But make it my choice, and leave me to decide and I go busting out onto the course, hitting it for miles any chance I get. Having some boss hassling me for missing a putt and telling me how to putt would get very annoying very quickly.
