Actually your furnace if properly sized will run about 50 minutes out of every hour at these temps. It's most efficient with the high efficiency jobs. Doesn't seem right that a bigger one that only runs 20 minutes will actually use more gas but that is what would happen.

How old is your furnace? And what about your insulation? My furnace is 4 yrs old and it's running sporadically. But like I said earler........we're experiencing a heat wave. It's all of 29 degrees.

I assume you're main source of power is from 4 corners?
