The short sales are a long term, strategic play. Right now, we are in the middle of an insane Treasury bubble.

The Tips are not as bad as straight Treasuries, but I'd still rather be short.

hdl, did you buy in thirds? i think i'm going to plunk down my next third position tomorrow.

know this... the treasury demands in 2009 likely outstrip worldwide savings.

they can print money and depress rates for a little while, but the music will stop playing when people see the massive devaluation of the dollar and, just like credit seized up, the treasury market will seize up.

when that happens, look out!

i'm looking into buying a first third in SRS tomorrow, too. i'd recommend using high risk money on that one as it can trade +/- 20% in any given day. mostly down of late, but that's why i like it now. you know, the buy low crap? ;-)
