Yes, we are. However, until this global recession passes,
commodity prices will likely remain subdued. Gold is still
correcting intermediate term, and the buck's rally has not
been cancelled just yet. This may change soon enough. The
period for gold now is like 75-76, before it really took off,
but take off it will, and how. The biggest gains in the gold bull
market still lie ahead. This interim bear is pretty normal.

That episode actually lasted from 1966 to 1982, and it was a lot more than cut in half in real terms. Dow rallied to, and bounced off, 1000 5 times in those 16 years.

If we're lucky, our next 15 years will have S&P 1500 as the unbreakable barrier. If unlucky, S&P 1000.
