As I understand torture, its used to get info from the POW that otherwise might be difficult to acquire. If so, why do they rely on waterboarding if its not torture?

Not ANYTHING you do to a POW to get information is "torture". Now, suddenly, you've got people claiming it is torture to use sleep deprivation or loud, annoying music to coerce these people to tell how they plan to kill innocent Americans.

This, of course, is silly. Any right-thinking person would inflict any amount of pain on someone who could, by disclosing information, save innocent lives. Even YOU would probably do that. I know I would.

I don't doubt that waterboarding could be done in a way that is tantamount to torture. But I've seen no evidence that has been done in the recent past. As we know, it was used three times on "high value" detainees, and it yielded results that saved lives, and the longest incident involved 3.5 minutes before ksm broke. That doesn't sound like torture to me.
