"Every time she got a cold it was always a huge effort to keep pneumonia from developing."

I resemble that remark. I started a serious vitamin regime on December 4th, 2007 in the middle of a walking Pneumonia session. A measly 1000 IU of vit D took out the trash pretty much. I used to get colds about 3-4 weeks after finishing the last one, and they could last 5 weeks at a clip. While taking the 1000IU of D, I got one cold which was mild and lasted all of 3 days in early April. I went to 2000 IU after that, and about 60 days ago made the jump to 5000 IU. My arthritis has disappeared; I recover faster from my weight lifting and running work outs. I believe my gums are in better condition. I have yet to get another cold since the one in early April.
