I love that part of southern California. I love the military presence there, as well, there is just so many interesting things to see.

Since my son was career Navy, we went to the coast as often as he was there. I've been aboard the Kitty Hawk 2 or 3 times. Always dockside. After my wife died, Keith invited me to Oakland where he was stationed aboard the Carl Vinson. That was a "family" day and we spent the day at sea. They put on a fabulous air show for us and fed over 7,000 civilians plus the ship's crew. We also had full access to the ship.

At that time Keith was no longer flying but worked in the department that controlled ALL flights on and off the ship. That gave him access to areas many of the other civvies couldn't see. Star Wars stuff, it looked like to me, BWDIK. gg
