What may happen is that the market could go Madoff, there could be a Madoff Effect on these markets... people see how $50 billion of other people's money have disappeared, they now have to worry about their own money they have in their own management funds, pension funds, and so on... this is a very realistic concern... we could see yet another heavy wave of selling, and people pulling their money out of all kinds of investment funds just to be sure their money is safe at home with them... if this happens, we could see these markets tank another 50% from current levels very soon and very quickly...

Right now I prefer #2.

Chrysler doesn't seem viable, but since it's in private hands it may lead the way on restructuring.
