FF, no i don't find it curious at all. i'm not "liberal." nor am i "conservative." the world is much more complex than a few labels. that's the wrong issue, frankly. the right issue is whether i'm for politicians (pick any flavor) feathering their nest at the expense of the populace. nope, i'm not for that. >>It's terrible, but can you really blame someone for participating in a crooked game when it's the only game in town and that game would destroy you too if you didn't play.<< you could use that same reasoning to justify all sorts of crimes against humanity. yes, i blame those crooks for being crooks. would i expect them to act different? no. because morality tends to go out the door when wealth and power are involved. look at any well known politician. "integrity and honesty" are not their forte. "pathological liar" is. i know you think you have a paradigm that will work. rest assured, it won't work. fundamentally self centered people will thwart any and all forms of government. the only question is "when?" rarely will they tell you this up front. they create a facade that sounds reasonable and then go on to do what feathers their nest. even under your system, there will be opportunities for massive ill gotten gains to increase marginal wealth. and to quote an esteemed thread member... "many of the smartest people on the right said "screw it" and decided to use that system to get even richer and accelerate the process." my issue with you isn't that typical liberalism isn't a failure, it is. just like communism. my issue is you think the right is, well, right. both sides have some issues on their side, but NEITHER SIDE will ever be reasonable to those issues as they are the sales pitch and feathering their own nest at the tax payer expense is the product. look at cheney and haliburton... up to $50 per meal served in iraq... yeah... gravy train off the gravy of our soldiers. you watch as chicago and lon time democrat forces reap MASSIVE profits from obama's $1 trillion infrastructure spending... it will go to enrich his good ole boys... just like cheney enriching haliburton. they are all scum and ideology, even on the right, is only used to manipulate people into electing them so they can feather their own nest at your expense. look at you - 8 years of getting r*ped by the right and you don't even want to discuss the experience! i don't blame you, either, but they did exactly what they had planned to do once they fooled people into voting for them..
