Jeez, you ARE getting mean Jim.<g> Seriously, all I ever hear from friends who work for some company or other is how they're under pressure to work harder while pay and/or benefits R being cut. But every one, including you, seem to hold onto THE JOB with a death grip that I cannot fathom. And the "reasons" offered are not convincing.

My comment is always the same. If you've risen to an important level in an industry, and obviously you have accomplished that Jim, you have valuable skills & experience that can be converted into a successful independent consulting business.

Sounds amazingly like the plot of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

In my area I can always scrounge up some Red Necks to take the place of Randy Quaid as cousin Eddie Johnson and kidnap your boss, though that might be a bit of a stretch if he is in London.

Anyway, Christmas Vacation had a happy ending and here is to hoping yours Christmas does too, or at least you get the last laugh on the corporate &*%$$.
