Buddy, I agree with most of what you're saying. In anything "close" to normal times I'd say just let them go bankrupt and reorganize. I guess I may be advocating "welfare" in this case. If we can give $150 billion in welfare to AIG, then why can't we give $50 billion in welfare to the Auto Industry? EITHER WAY you're going to give welfare out to the auto workers and the industries and small businesses they support. Either you give it in bailouts or you give it in food stamps, unemployment, social unrest, free healthcare, soup lines, etc. Do you REALIZE how bad things are getting? We're just scratching the surface on this DEPRESSION. This is still only 1929 and early 1930 of the "Great Depression".
