Rick Warren is the only high profile opening into the extremist evangelical movement. And Obama hit it at the right time by inviting him. I was surprised that a evangelical like Warren would be sympathetic towards AIDS. But now, I will not be surprised if he has "another awakening" and becomes sympathetic towards gay marriage and begins to see it more as a commitment between individuals similar to the ones he sees when he marries a man and a woman.<<

koan:

"Chinu, Warren sees his work with aids as an IN, to getting the African's to replcae their religion with Christianity. He has clearly stated that helping with aids for strticly humanitarian reasons was "wrong".

Helping with aids is only ok if salvation is a part of the package. So in effect he is say and this is heavy:

"we will help you with aids if you renounce your religion and adopt Christianity"!! Just like they did in the 1800's in much of the 3rd world

Warren completely discounts the altruistic work on aids by secular humanists.
