I think you guys are being a little hard on Tom Cruise. He was good in "A few good men", that had both Cruise and Nicholson not really playing themselves.

Cruise makes a good movie. He's a whack, but he makes a good movie.

My favorite american actor right now is Robert Downey Jr. Amazing how life experiences can add to somebody's appeal on screen.
