Wow, small world.

My wife grew up in West Seattle too. Her dad built the family house in the early 60's. 5 mins from Lincoln Park, great view of the sound and mountains. I love watching the Fauntleroy ferry from the deck.

Tejek is right, I think the area is a great prospect for revival. The original houses are mostly modest and middle class. Her dad is in his 80's now, and when he passes the house is a perfect teardown lot. Rebuild with another storey (the trees are taller now) and it's a million dollar view.

Right now, we're visiting friends in Grass Valley (Sierra Nevada foothills). Great climate, rural unspoilt woodlands. So many cool places if we get tired of the Bay Area!
