What would you do if lived inside a fence with supplies limited and checkpoints? There is no reasonable way to look at this from one-point of view. Nor to suggest that racism towards jews in some other part of the country has anything to do with what Israel (a country) and Gaza do between each other.
And you might have noticed a tad of racism towards Arabs, especially the dirty Palestinians (ya know, those people who were not Nazis but lost land because of Nazis).

Israel has no moral high ground as regards a people trapped and hungry in Gaza. Hamas has no high ground, either.

Ships full of Jews tried to find safety and no country would take them in. Israel had Jews as long as anyone else, so they went ot their fatherland to seek refue.

And no one will take in those in Gaza. The Egyptians fence them in, also, and push them back if they try to flee to safety. You'd think the two groups would realize they have something in common.

And, Koan, I'm not talking about Iran or Iraq or any other ME country with means to fight (really fight, not rinky-dink at it) and simply don't want Israel to exist. That is a separate issue from a people whose land was given to others through no fault of their own, but Europe's fault. And a people who are poor, hungry, descriminated against badly, etc. This is about Israel and Palistine. What Iran wants to do to Israel does make anything right in the Palestinians being forced into the living conditions they are under.

Trying to wipe out the Palestinians has not been a winning strategy for Israel. I think only the insane would think it would work this time.

I've stated this before on other threads, but here's my solution to The MiddleEast:

Israel v. Palestine

* Make Jerusulem an international city (similar to how Washington DC is here in America).

* Move the United Nations to Jerusulem.

* Disband the Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

* Where conflicts are greatest along the West Bank area, build a United Nations School of Diplomacy, on a university level, with Jewish and Arab scholarships and create massive employment opportunities for Palestinians.

* In the Golan Heights create a United Nations Peacekeeping Training Facility where peacekeepers are trained to deal with conflicts in other nations.

Sunni v. Shite v. Kurds v. Iran, etc.

* Divide current Iraq into two countries:

a) Create a northern nation, one comprised of Sunnis, Shites and Kurds, including the city of Baghdad and north of Baghdad and west of Baghdad leading to a tiny southern sliver of access to the Persian Gulf;

b) Create a southern Shite nation, comprised primarily of Shites. South of Bagdad create a boundary, including the Shia holy cities along the Tigris and Euphrates -- an area shaped a bit like South Carolina -- down to west of Umm Qasr: This will become a Shite nation -- the US could, improving its own diplomacy in the process, work with Iran to help create this new country. Since Shites currently are 60 percent of Iraq's population probably about two-thirds of them would become citizens of the new Shite nation. This would leave the remaining Shites in the northern nation in comparable numbers to the Sunnis and Kurds -- together, these three factions could then compete in a democracy for the best ideas.

* Forgive all prior Iraqi debt to other nations.

* Create a two-nation oil board, a company to oversee all oil profits, from present day geographical Iraq, and divide those profits equally between both two nations.

* Make Iraqi rivers international waterways.

* Encourage unemployed Palestinians to travel to either of the two nations to help rebuild both countries into quality nations.

NOTE: Should all of the above happen, then Israel would agree to dismantle its nuclear power capability.

Meanwhile, PartyTime will just hang out over there, walk on water, play his guitar, sing songs and make sure all is well--lol!
