In my area you would have a hard time convincing me that the Eagle is even threatened. Over our lake I will be able to see up to 15 of them soaring around at a time.

I live just east of a large lake. The property surrounding it has huge, old cottonwood trees. There are two eagle nests several hundred yards apart in those trees. There is a place for people to park and watch with binoculars. They do not let anyone inside the fence to get close at all. They return year after year to those nests. Lots of prairie dogs in the area, so they eat well. I suppose they also fish, but I've never seen that.

One group of the Eagles is down near 1-90 on the way to Bellevue at that exit, and we think there is another group some place near the middle of the island..... We are pretty careful about watching those little critters of ours...
