It is good to admit error but not easy. Nonetheless, a very good habit.

I am embarrassed to say that when subprime first reared its ugly head, I thought it was manageable. The spin generated by Wall St. at first bamboozled me. It was not until I myself dispassionately looked at things on my own did I realize that the problems were indeed enormous. More important, I realized they presented opportunities.

The problems we have now present opportunities, too. I feel I have an obligation to my family to make sure I take advantage of them in these difficult times for no one else, certainly not Uncle Sam nor the criminal class Madoff, Milken, Boesky, Enron, etc., represent, I think has my best interests in mind quite as intensely as I do.

<<Or is your statement more personal in nature?>>

neither personal nor factual, just mathematical, in that since our friendship via si, she is in the aggregate down by at least 50% nominally, or 80% against gold, and i am up, by a lot, measured however way, terrible years after wonderful decade, and, as long as cb ilaine's fundamental premise remain wrong, biblical justice will be applied mercilessly, again and once more.

i like it, because as she knows full well, it is so much fun.

cheers, tj

she will never change. her mind is a rock in a fast moving stream. nothing shapes its very self referential existence. but a very self satisfied rock.

Interestingly, my post got 13 recommendations and one "wtf?"

Which suggests that the majority of people who read the board don't need an explanation.

If you need an explanation, I am sure Jay would be willing to give you his version.
