This was mistakenly sent to Jay a bit earlier. As it was intended for you, I have corrected.

There are lots of ways to play metal. I agree that buying individual miners is not the way to go unless you are marcos, who maintains an exacting eye on them.

Platinum's producers were initially reluctanct to participate in the ETF scheme but were helpless to prevent it. I was looking for a domestic one about a year ago, with no successs [thankfully] and am not currently invested in it though that may change. You can find platinum ETFs in the London and Swiss markets. The NYSE now has PTM; you can short it if you wish via PTD.

My gold is in IAU, GDX and DGP, a 2x leveraged vehicle in which I am currently underwater slightly but still am holding. Silver is in SLV as well as a trading position, currently nil, in Hecla Mining, HL.

Gold cyber currency exists. It is a brave new world, one I would not touch with a stick.

There is a basket of metals available in the London market: PHPM, consisting of platinum (20%), palladium (12%), silver (26%) and gold (42%) when it began. Don't know present allocation.

My accountant, spouse, vbg, tallies up my performance at the end of the year and is currently doing so. It appears net worth will be either slightly up or slightly down with no big change either way. I am grateful because in this market, he who loses the least wins. A graybeard like Richard Russell says so, and he should know.
