You're quite mistaken. I shorted the Brazilian market for a while.

Brazil was hogging capital, so I needed to redirect some of the capital back to where it could be productive.

Brazil was far more over-priced than U.S., Canadian or Australian stocks.

I suspect my investment choices have been far more global than those chosen by investors like yourself who are members of the Brazilian Booster Club.

There are 2 parameters for investments: Return and conditions.

The return may be greater in another country, but the conditions can be harder to understand. Does that other country expect unrest? Do they inflate? Do they really check that Madoff guy well? If you're not sure about that, a risk premium is applied, which favors your home market, which you understand better.
