>>unrestrained world population growth<<

imho, that's a symptom of a different root cause.

the real problem is fundamental human greed as defined by caring for oneself significantly more than caring for others.

you know, donkey riding "golden rule" kind of stuff.

the world around us is just the obvious end result of different people elevating their interests well above the interests of others. the world couldn't turn out differently, which is why that old donkey rider knew that war would be with humanity forever.

some people argue it is not possible to falsify god. in the abstract, that is true. but as to the god of the bible, if all of humanity learned to live in peace and harmony for an extended period of time, the biblical god would be 100% discredited.

but we know that the serial killers, the drug trafficers, the drug users, the lying politicians, the governmental thieves, the war mongers, etc... aren't going anywhere.

obama watch:

well, we didn't even have to wait until obama was inaugurated before he started revealing this campaign promises to be lies.

1. obama's "pay as you go" claim was always an obvious lie, but i won't chide him much here as bush left him a fiscal hornets nest. he still knowingly lied with his "pay as you go" tripe, though, even if bushevics hadn't pulled the pin and tossed the american public on the grenade.

2. obama proclaimed for all to here that "no lobbyist will be part of my administration." then it was... well, not within the last 2 years, anyway. then he gets elected and hires a lobbyist to an important post within his administration.

news.yahoo.com

of course, he has excuses for breaking his promise - they *always* do. after all, making a promise that is easy to keep is not much of a promise at all. making a promise and then keeping it even when it is difficult is where integrity comes into play... integrity that obama lacks.

of, the flip side is not to make empty promises in the first place... then you don't have to break them before you even take office! oh well, political expediency was valued quite a bit higher than truth and integrity.

this type of behavior is not change, it is typical of politicians - politicians who's primary skill is to get elected by any means necessary.

yes, i absolutely think obama is a better class of pathological liar than is bush, so all is not lost. at least for now. i think obama really struggles as president as both sides of the aisle try and flex their muscle that went impotent under the bushevic reign.
