Two assumptions you made in your post that are not true:
1) you said I'm a liberal, which I am not and never have been.
2) you said that I think terrorism should be handled through a policing type action, instead of military engagement. That is also incorrect.

Simply because I disagree with you on the politics of energy and on how to tackle terrorism doesn't make me a liberal. And when it comes to terrorists, on several other threads, I have been derided as extreme in my views that we should institute a policy of nuking key Middle East cities if we were ever nuked by a group of Islamic terrorists. So you should never mistake me for a liberal when it comes to foreign policy. I believe in a very muscular foreign policy.

However, I also believe in using our resources wisely. I don't believe we are all-powerful and have an endless supply of money, as you seem too. I believe our war in Iraq has not only proved the limits of our military might, but has also shown that asymmetric warfare is exactly how to take on countries as powerful as us, because they bleed us dry of money, which hurts us where we feel it most. I almost get physically ill when I think of the trillions of dollars oil and terrorism have cost this country.

Oil and terrorism are two sides of the same coin. Until you realize that, you are not seeing the bigger picture.
