Re $40K vehicles - I make good money (Dem pols apparently think I'm rich) yet I've never bought one and barring runaway inflation, never will.

People buy $40K vehicles every day.
----------------------------------------------------
Maybe in your neighborhood.. But in the heartland of America where people are lucky to make $24-30K per year, a $40K car with unproven technology and no dealership infrastructure/expertise to repair it, is a VERY MAJOR consideration.

FUD. Obviously not everyone can purchase a $40K car, and just as obviously we're not going to change from almost 100% ICE vehicles over the course of a week, no matter how much that (straw man) supports your opposition to all electric vehicles. Obviously there will be dealerships, people are not going to buy EVs on the Internet, now are they Hawk? And just as obviously right now there are no dealerships because there are no cars. Jeez.

Maybe because you think that $$$ grows on trees, and I don't.

Maybe I see a hell of a lot of $40K++ vehicles on the street every day.

How about this, as an EV subsidy we give a $10K tax credit for each vehicle to cover the cost of the battery. You want to get off imported oil right?
