What is the sense that the China government will be able to handle the economic crisis well ? Is there still confidence ? I also noticed that Taiwan was cutting rates, and stating something about how their actions coordinate with what the Mainland is doing. When I see governments and central banks around the world trying to coordinate efforts, without the usual criticisms and even less game playing, it is a sign that the governments are really scared. Last time there was this much cooperation was SARS and bird flu. I expect we will see some very bad unemployment numbers, maybe this month, but certainly next. As a result, almost every wallet will be closed up tight.
