Conservatives appeal to reason, to self-responsibility, to love of country, to respect for our forefathers and the religious, cultural, and political values they handed down to us. If conservatives loved "to have the media tell them how to think", they'd have voted Obama and believed that being selected President of the Harvard Law Review and writing to books about himself made him the most qualified man to ever run for President. Conservatives know the air and water in the US is cleaner today than in the 1960's, that the earth's climate has never been stable, and that there's no evidence human activity is the main driver of climate change. Liberalism is based on immature and emotional claims that conservatives are evil and liberals are noble, saintly, and compassionate.
