In defense of Ted, fighting a war in an urban environment first from the air and now by ground assault against a guerilla enemy in civilian clothing is never something that will be attractive to a normal person. Israel certainly fights in self defense in Gaza but the cost in lives is quite large. What galls me about the Teds of the world is that they wont acknowledge that hamas is responsible for all the carnage unless of courst he (ted) can come up with another less violent scenario on how Israel was to stop the rocket attacks and the smuggling that would eventually put all of israel at risk from ever, longer range rockets. I dont expect ted to ever have an answer. He supports the side that suffers from hamas to al quaeda, it matters not. Whoever feels the weight of assymetric power from the big guy will be ted's enemy whether its the US in Afganistan or Israel in Gaza. Same with Pissy Parsons.

If they want to avoid civilian casualties, all they have to do is restrict themselves to aimed fire from soldiers on the ground directed at Hamas soldiers. Why don't they do that? To say they do everything possible to avoid civilian casualties is a load of crap. They do everything possible to avoid IDF military casualties. The IDF has F-16's and artillery and they USE them. Hamas has rockets and suicide bombers, and they use THEM. What is a suicide bomber but a poor man's smart bomb anyway?

You post little about about the Israelis killing civilians but are ready to pounce when Hamas does a verbal jihad on Jewish children. Israelis have never TARGETED children. Children have been killed as collateral damage, but Israel tries to avoid children being killed. That's what we have been led to believe over the decades but in fact, children die all the time under the heavy hand of Israel. In fact, this past week, Israeli mortars were fired at a UN school. So what the Israelis say they do and what actually happen often proves to be two different scenarios.
