There is only a couple of ways to conquer a land and resettle it. One is complete or nearly complete genocide, the other is to subdue a people and subject them to your rule or convince them to assimilate into the new culture. The Israelis did neither when they established their country in 1947. I have no expectations for a long term peaceful coexistence between them and their adversaries. There is a third way...imprison a people and control their movements. That is what Israel has done to the Palestinians."There are two sides and both have legitimate claims. True. "However one of those sides is taking the lion share of abuse and it ain't the Israelis. Again, true. I, however, have never been one of those who was simpathetic to bullies who complain, "hey, I didn't hit you THAT hard!" However according to you, one bad comment by an extremist and all the bad of the Israelis is wiped clean." That's not what I said or meant. But that's what your statement implied. This is a sensitive subject.........you need to be careful with your choice of words if you don't want your meaning misunderstood. As before these are simply your words of spin onto my statement. I don't really care but I am bound to correct your dishonest spin as a personal obligation. That's not spin......I took the implication of your statement to the next level. Again, if you don't like my interpretation, then you need to include more specificity.First, it wasn't 'an extremist,' it was the leader of the extremist forces who launch terrorist attacks on innocents. You're knitpicking. This particular leaders comments are considered 'fatwa' by his followers. If you don't know what fatwa is, you should look it up. Unless powerful recognized scholars, immediately discount this statement it becomes essentially marching orders. It is a condemnable act and I have no hesitation in saying so. You do, which says a lot about you. How is this Fatwa any different than the 'Fatwa' issued by Israel: "Israel warns Gaza of its Iron First"?"Do you think the actually killing of hundreds of children is acceptable? Which do you find worse, the actual killing or the suggestion to kill?" Everything takes its true meaning from context. In this case, you've deliberately ignored the context for political convenience. I find that to be a corrupt interpretation of events and despicable but I understand you perfectly. You didn't answer my questions. The death of innocent children happens every day under all kinds of unfortunate circumstance, some avoidable some not. I accept what is but don't always feel good about it. Much of the death of children whether from accidents, starvation, treatable disease, collateral damage, etc is avoidable and it is regrettable that we don't do more to protect them and keep them from harms way. The suggestion that innocent children are legitimate targets is pure evil. I said the sympathy for the Gazan people would be lessened as it may be associated with this statement and I am correct, which has nothing to do with which side I am going to be a cheer leader for ... which happens to be neither. Which is more evil....the call to kill kids or the actual killing of them?
