Questions from Montgomery, DLJ, Morgan Stanley, Needham, Paine Webber, Oppenheimer (questions already answered), Soundview

Demand is strong. Comfortable with Dataquest estimates.

Sees improving gross margins next year. Hesistant to provide guidance on Q4 margins

DLJ: Congratulations on a nice quarter

Managing customers to 6 month backlog but Cymer has some visibility to over 6 month period - but won't comment on it. But feels solid (no reason to feel otherwise)

Race to supershrink versions of 64bit DRAM. Race to .25 micron. Possible that customers may want to pull in orders!!

Mfg challenges to be expected but no fundamental technical issues

MS: Question - Lead time on lasers going into stepper mfg
Steppers and scanners lead time - 4-6 months for steppers; scanners 6 months

Tax rate of 37% for next year

Quality of Seiko vs San Diego lasers - higly confident of quality

Komatsu - continue to negotiate with Komatsu to avoid litigation

Worst case market share for 1998 and 1999 - will not comment

*****
Summary: didn't hear anything negative
