We have an equal playing time rule so that if you face a team where even one of your best players is out and one of their worst players is out, you are in for a tough day. I have this kid on my team from the UK who not only never played basketball in his life but is not athletic. Yet he's a nice kid and I actually played him more than the other kids in our last game (the blowout).

Our only loss came when the games conflicted with school concerts so the other team only had six kids, one of whom is phenomenal and whose mother had agreed to coach with me but the kid didn't want her coaching him anymore (as she had in the past), while we lost our #2 scorer but retained everyone else. So 5/6s of the game this kid is out there and I can't do anything about it. We only lost by four. This past week that team, with all its players, got trounced by the team we beat in week one. But that's rec. (And I still think we should have won. I started to press a minute later than I was allowed to because I misread the scoreboard which had bulbs missing.)
