The future price of copper:

**In an April '08 feasibility study, Corriente chose to $1.75 US/lb as their LOM copper price. In explaining this choice they mentioned (inter alia) " various financial and mining industry forecasts for future copper prices, which range from $1.50 to $2.00 US/lb". Their sensitivity analysis shows copper ranging between $1.23 lb, 30% below their "conservative" base rate and $2.28 US/lb (30% above)

**In a recent NR Credit Suisse forecast average 2009 prices of $1.75 US/lb and 2010 prices averaging $2.25 lb.

Has anyone info of other expected ranges of pricing ?

P.S. Yes here's one form Brook Hunt that bolsters Claude's view:

For heavy-to-copper plays to get projects financed, or any amount of market attention, i think we need to see copper at least demonstrate a bottom and begin signs of a move up ... sort of coming around to Claude's view on this, though not exclusively, still holding a whack of ngd.to and have great hopes for it, since they have considerable immediate gold production upside ... even so, big payoff with New Gold will come together with Terrane, due to Cu values at New Afton and El Morro ... they and Mt Milligan are all about two-thirds copper by value, using Au/Cu prices of a year ago anyway [different now yes, but will bankers say yes your gold values went up, or will they say your copper values fell off a cliff, call us when they climb back up, hmm]

Will it be Dr Copper who first shouts recovery, or Nurse Oil ... i plan to get more educated on o&g, and the ways to play them, real soon

Indeed the scenario varies a lot depending on which prices you take. Try it with the copper prices of 1998-2003 because these are the prices we may well obtain in the next 5 years.

But I will give the bennefit of the doubt to G. They are smart people. We will see what happens.
