As usual, the Left has co-opted the meanings of words to suit their own purposes, and this time, the word is "torture".

Just like liberals use the term "investment" to mean "government spending", they now use "torture" to mean "making terrorists mildly uncomfortable so that they are motivated to give up information".

We can still argue about the rightness or wrongness of using torture. We can still argue about the legal definition of torture, or what constitues torture as a moral principle.

What happened in ancient history or recent history is useful information on a changeable baseline. I see no more reason to stand in loyalty to the policies of Clinton or Bush than I do to those of Ghengus Khan ... all interesting men, who's time has passed.

If we can determine something is not in our best interests lets change it or just get rid of it. This is where the discussion should be focused, rather than on which leader we can support, blame, or spin inane commentary around.

CJ is an ignoramus. One of my childhood friends had a father who had bamboo shoots driven under his fingernails by his Chinese communist captors during the Korean war. THAT was torture.

If it was worse than reading the bile that the wingnuts post against President Bush it have been truly horrible.
