For the record, Obama took the oath of office at 12:05 ET when the Dow was at 8125, give or take several points. Dow is down 2% thus far for Obama's term.

Obama takes office with the Dow at about 8000. We can measure the progress from that bench mark.

You can measure the DOW from it's current value; however, know that the DOW is not the market. It is a reflection of the stocks that make up the Dow Jones Average.

Look deeper. What is the whole market telling us?

What is one's portfolio telling you, if you have one or if you still have one after two years of Pelosi and her Freshman.

In those two years, the market has been decimated.
