Why was Byrd upset? Was he reacting to the reported seizure that Kennedy was said to be having? Byrd was also described as being ill when he came in his wheel chair and described as being hunkered over. Were Kennedy and Byrd at the same table?

Seems to me that there was some confusion about the moment. I had just flicked on the tv when suddenly the news came across on live local tv, first it was Kennedy, then one report said Byrd-----the tv cameras were showing pictures of Kennedy walking as they reported this.

The pictures were obviously not showing what was truly happening. Lot's of confusion around that time.

Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va.

When you look at the sequence, the best read is that Byrd became upset about Teddy's seizure.
