A friend emailed me this today: A good one. But my guess is they would make it today. Not without incident. But they wouldn't have made it in the several decades ago. In my little central Texas town, one of the most talked about events during the latter years of the Vietnam War was two motorcyclists coming through with very long hair, Easy Rider style, who stopped for lunch at the local diner. They were kidnapped, hair and beard shaved, beaten up, and then taken to the outskirts of town and sent on their way. Town bragged about it.
