"It was a legal agreement. Rush agreed to undergo treatment and stay clean for 18 months."

Wow. Talk about "nuance"...

He might haved stayed clean of OxyContin, but he wasn't very careful about prescription drugs, now was he?

"Even if the whole privacy excuse was BS, so what?"

He is a junkie. More than that, he is a junkie who "nuanced" the legal system. That is pretty serious. It means that the only way to keep this from happening is to institute rules than make it more onerous on those who tend to be honest. So, should millions of honest people suffer because Rush and his ilk feel they can "nuance" the law?

Yeah, I know. He is a conservative. So he gets a special pass. Despite the fact he never manned upped to either transgression.

I got EXACTLY the same deal when I was busted for growing pot. You can swing it if you can afford the legal talent. You are found GUILTY of the crime, but the sentence is set aside. It's a "legal agreement" that is just like probation. You get drug tested frequently and have to attend Narcotics Anonymous. If you make it 18 months, it's as if you were never busted. If you don't, it's back to court for sentencing..
