I think it needs to be pointed out that "progressives" in this case do not include the liberals who have hijacked the word for their own ends. There's a lot of truth in what RW, CJ, and SilentZ have said regarding corporate America and whether that really has made us better off or not. But I think they may be drawing the wrong conclusions. Community doesn't come from small town mom-n-pop shops or from government social programs. It comes from the heart of every American, and there's nothing that government can do to spark that (though there's a lot government can do to suppress it). Tenchusatsu
