Terrible story on 60 Mins yesterday Michael. If half true, it speaks very badly of what Israel is doing in Palestine. It speaks very badly of what the Palestinians have done to themselves.

Settlers are out of control. Livni said settlements would go once a deal is made. We are reaching critical mass in mideast. If israel doesnt reign them in now, it will never happen and some of what Simon says will happen will happen. But what he missed is how Hamas feeds the settlers will by buying them time thru their violence in gaza to push israel to policies that would be akin to ethnic cleansing. Tom Friedman talked about this in his oped. Pals must renounce violence or israel wont renounce settlers. What a mess. Only folks that can resolves this are moderate arabs who fear hamas more than they fear ethnic cleansing on WB. What irony in all this?

If you don't have a two-state solution in Israel and Palestine, what you end up with is either: Israel and two gulags. An apartheid Israel with Zionist citizens and other, second-class, mostly Arab citizens. I don't want MY country supporting either of these.

Ten years ago, this would not have been possible. Americans were so deluded about Israel by the Israelis they would not believe what 60 Minutes was saying. Its disgusting........the Israelis are worse than I thought. And Netanyahu will win in Feb., not Livni......and he will not move the settlers out of the WB. Did you catch that point about the water.....that the Israeli settlers use more water? Its not even their frigging water......it comes from the WB, not Israel.
