what are the right things to do? Prediction, it will lead to high risk gestures that the pals will take as a sign of weakness and begin the fight all over again. Dont you get that what pals want is Jew Free mideast. Even the moderate arabs in their heart of hearts want this in their heart of hearts. The real test is how many will trade that in for jobs etc. As far as moderate jews go, there are few left. Hamas has won because it forced israel to full military mode. Gazans have lost because they will continue to be crushed for what hamas does/plans etc. And the west bankers will never get a fair shake either because if israel gives up like you want, they too will see it as weakness and respond militarily. I dont see a way out of it. At some point there will be a decisive military confrontation. If iran is not engaged and denuked, the mideast war will spread and may take on a nuclear component. I think we are at the last chance bar and grill here. Good luck to Mitchell.
